PHYS 6350 - Computational Physics Credit Hours: 3.0 (Lecture Contact Hours:3; Lab Contact Hours:1) Prerequisite: Graduate standing in Physics or consent of Chair. Scientific programming, numerical methods in linear algebra, eigenvalue problems, ODEs, and PDEs: data structures, data analysis, and curve fitting; variational calculations; density functional theory; band structure calculations; molecular dynamics and Monte Carlo simulations; parallel computing.
