This course provides an overview of the role of market research in hospitality market development. The course will cover the steps used to conduct a market study, the role of economic data in evaluating a market, the use of email surveys in market research, the use of comparable properties in preparing financial projections and the importance of public/private financing options in making a project feasible. This course would be useful to students interested in pursuing a career in hospitality revenue management, asset management, research, consulting and/or development.
