The Certificate in Accountancy Program (CAP) was developed for
post-baccalaureate students who need to fulfill the accounting-prerequisite-course requirements for the Master of Science in Accountancy (MSACCY) program and for
non-degree-seeking, post-baccalaureate students who need additional courses to meet the educational requirements for the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy Uniform CPA Examination and
to offer courses to students who may be changing careers.
CAP courses are mainly offered in the evening and occasionally on Saturdays. Students who complete at least ten courses in the program and meet the GPA requirements are awarded the Certificate in Accountancy. Specialized courses in oil and gas and internal audit are offered through the program.
Students interested in finding program and course information about CAP may visit the Professional Accounting Program Office, located in suite 304 of the University Classroom and Business Building or call 713-743-4696 or link to http://www.bauer.uh.edu/departments/accy/CAP/index.php.
