Supply Chain and Logistics Technology, B.S.

Supply Chain and Logistics Technology is a technically-based STEM approved program using information technology to optimize the global flow of goods and services. Supply Chain and Logistics Technology focuses on the international supply chain from the source of raw material through the transformation into finished products, and to ultimate delivery at the point of consumption.

Because supply-chain functions are part of all business activities, skills acquired with this degree offer unlimited employment opportunities.

Career options for SCLT graduates include supply-chain management with domestic and international corporations, service companies, third-party logistics providers, transportation companies, distribution centers, and other government and private businesses. Graduates are employed as logistical analysts and consultants, business development, digital transformation specialist, operations managers; procurement specialist and category managers, quality specialist, inventory control specialists; marketing managers; customer relationship management; and warehouse and distribution center managers.

The Supply Chain and Logistics Technology degree consists of 120 semester hours of university undergraduate academic credit.

Change of Technology Major


Students wishing to declare a Technology major must submit a change of major prior to the end of the 6th consecutive semester after admittance to the University of Houston, excluding summers. Change of major requests submitted after this time must undergo individual review. Students may be required to attend individual review interview.

Students with less than the required cumulative grade point average for a particular major are encouraged to obtain academic advising in their intended major; however, they are not eligible for admission to the major until the required grade point average is attained. It is recommended that students who wish to change their major to any of the Technology degree programs enroll in at least one course each semester in approved coursework for their desired major requirements.

No grade lower than C will be accepted on any courses applicable to the major. Students may petition one (1) grade of C- towards major.

Students must have minimum 2.00 in major


Major GPA will be calculated based on the major requirements and the professional track.

  • 2.00 minimum cumulative grade point average in courses attempted at the University of Houston
  • 36 of the credit hours must be advanced (junior or senior level)
  • Final residency - The last 30 semester hours to be applied toward a bachelor’s degree must be taken in residence at UH
  • 9 advanced credit hours in department of major in residence at UH
  • 120 hours required for this degree
  • Limit of 66 credit hours of lower-level (1000 and 2000 level) transfer credit toward an undergraduate degree at the University of Houston
  • Students may use no more than two semester hours in physical education activity courses
  • Students must satisfy TSI to graduate
