Exercise and Fitness Studies, B.S.

The BS in Exercise and Fitness Studies is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in basic exercise, fitness, and movement concepts.  Students who complete this degree will be equipped to pursue careers related to exercise and fitness or within the broader health and wellness industry.

Exercise and Fitness Studies Core


Minor or Double Major


A minor, second major, or second bachelor’s degree is required. The number of hours required may vary by department. Refer to specific departments for a complete list of requirements.

General Electives


General Electives are additional hours needed to meet degree requirements. Repeat/Remedial courses do not count towards total hours.  Student must complete a minimum of 18 hours for the general elective block, of which 3 hours must be advanced courses.

Other Requirements


  • Students who choose to major in Exercise and Fitness Studies must also meet the UH Core Curriculum  requirements and the Liberal Arts and Social Sciences requirements  for a Bachelor of Science degree.  This degree does not require the CLASS block or diversity requirement.
  • All KIN courses which are prerequisites for other KIN courses must be completed with a grade of C- or better.
